The Conway Public Schools Athletics Department is excited to welcome Coach Cheyenne Kuhn to the Wampus Cat Family.
Kuhn, a Conway High School Alumni, will join the Wampus Cat coaching staff as an Assistant Coach for high school softball and junior high volleyball.
Kuhn was a 4-year-letterman and 3-time All-Conference Softball player for Conway. She went on to play softball at the University of Central Arkansas for 5 years, red-shirting her freshman year. A 2015 Southland Conference Champion, 5-time NFCA All-American Scholar-Athlete, and a 5-time Southland Conference Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll recipient, Kuhn will be an outstanding example to Conway’s student-athletes at the Junior High and High School.
“Coach Kuhn knows what it takes to be on top of your game both on the field and in the classroom,” says Conway Athletic Director Clint Ashcraft, “She will be an asset to our Conway Junior High School Teaching Staff as well as our coaching staff.”
“I can’t wait to show the girls how softball can teach so many valuable skills that can help them in their life and in their future career,” says Kuhn. “Through coaching, I will be able to help guide my players to develop skills related to teamwork, communication, learning from failure, adversity, time management, etc. Without the sport of softball and the people that I have met through this sport, I wouldn’t be the person that I am today.”
This Spring, Kuhn served as the graduate assistant for the University of Central Arkansas’ Softball Program, while graduating with a Master of Arts Degree in Sports Management.
She can’t wait to come back “home.”
“I’m looking forward to meeting everyone,” says Kuhn. “I can’t wait to meet my fellow colleagues, coaches, administrators, students and players. I’m proud to be able to wear blue and white colors again.”
