BENTONVILLE -- Conway finally found a way to get past Springdale Har-Ber in the Class 6A state volleyball tournament.

The Lady Wampus Cats, who lost to Har-Ber in the semifinals each of the past two years, were too much for the Lady Wildcats on Thursday afternoon at Tiger Arena.
The trio of Karli Ferguson, Satera Scott and Emma Begley combined for 26 kills to lead Conway to a 25-16, 25-29, 25-21 sweep of Har-Ber.

Conway (28-7-1) dominated the opening set, but rallied in each of the final two sets to close out the match thanks to the combination of a fast offense and great defense.

Har-Ber, the 6A-West Conference champion, grabbed a 16-11 lead in the second thanks to senior outside hitter Jayci Carpenter. But the Lady Wampus Cats went on a 14-3 run to seize control of the match.

Conway used a 7-3 surge in the third set to turn a 16-14 deficit into a 21-18 lead en route to the victory.

Conway Coach Laura Crow said she likes to utilize the middle attack, but passing has to be good in order to do that. The Lady Wampus Cats were precise with their passes against Har-Ber.

"It's a quick attack and the defense doesn't have a lot of time to set up," Crow said. "Our middles were doing great so we were like 'feed 'em.'
