On Sept. 29, the Conway Wampus Cats cross country team competed in the Cyclone Invitational in Russellville.

The senior boys team performed well, finishing just one point shy of tying for first place, after placing two in the individual top 10 and four in the top 20.

Brady Pascoe finished in second place with a time of 16 minutes, four seconds. He was followed by Gunter Campbell, who finished with a time of 16:30.

In 13th place, John Sutton finished with a time of 16:47, while Ian Bush placed 18th with a time of 16:52.

For the senior girls team, Kate Freyaldenhoven finished in third place with a time of 19:34.

As for the junior girls, two runners finished in the top 20.

Madalyn Crow placed 11th with a time of 13:51, while Trinity Greenwood finished two spots behind with a time of 13:55.

The team’s next cross country meet occurs at the Bryant Invitational on Saturday.
