Conway’s Grimes fights back from devastating injury
Anterior cruciate ligament tears can usually take several months to heal, often putting professional athletes on the injured reserve list for a year.

It used to be a career-ending injury.

However, Conway girls senior soccer player Annie Grimes came back seven months after tearing her ACL.

“When she first got injured in August, when I got to her on the field, the first thing she said was, ‘I just want to play. I don’t want to let my teammates down,’” Conway coach Kevin DeStefano said. “She said the same thing to her mom with tears in her eyes.”

Grimes was faced with losing her senior year of high school soccer.
